Established
in May l993, Ningbo Communications Investment Holdings
Co., Ltd. (NBCIH) is a state-owned assets management company
authorized by Ningbo State Assets Supervisory Commission
with registered capital of RMB 2.5 billion yuan. The company
is mainly engaged in investment, construction, operation
and management of traffic infrastructures and auxiliary
facilities such as roads, bridges, airports, jetties and
terminal yards.
Since its foundation, NBCIH has taken the buzzwords "steadiness,
high efficiency, practice and long - term" as the guideline
in operation. With the great concern and energetic support

based itself upon the construction of great three - dimensional
traffic in Ningbo City. The whole staff has emancipated
the mind, kept forging ahead with determined and dauntless
mind, made progress with the advance of time and actively
made innovation. With holding and participating in shares
as the main forms and by means of capital operation, it
has kept excavating its own potentials and advantages,
actively carried out the development of operational traffic
infrastructure projects and sought for the development
of fringe traffic industries. The businesses have been
expanded to various fields such as shipping, real estate
development, road passenger and freight transport, waterway
passenger and freight transport, road project construction,
waterway project construction, network engineering, traffic
logistics and consultant planning. It has created outstanding
business achievements and enabled the company to realize
extraordinary growth. By the end of 2005, the total assets
of the company have amounted to RMB 15.7 billion.
At present, the key projects under the investment and
construction of NBCIH include: Hangzhou Bay Sea-crossing
Bridge (40.5% share), Southern connection line of Hangzhou
Bay Sea-crossing Bridge(100% share), Ningbo section of
Ningbo-Jinhua Expressway ( investment attraction has successfully
done )and Ningbo City-round Expressway. Within the recent
years, NBCIH will further invest and construct a series
of Ningbo Key development projects such as Xiangshan Bay
Bridge, Zhoushan Island-connection Project, Daqi Harbour-connection
Expressway, Eastern New City etc., which will make great
contribution for the traffic construction of Ningbo City.
The company is located in Ningbo, a beautiful and rich
port city in the southeastern area of China near the metropolis
Shanghai. Ningbo is one of the earliest open port cities
in China Mainland and the trading center of Zhejiang Province,
where industry, trade and commerce are developed and flourishing
and transport is convenient. It owns Beilun port, a natural
deepwater harbor rare in the world, which is the hub of
Shanghai international shipping center and plays a significant
strategic role in the area of Yangtze River Delta.
According to the overall objective of basic realization
of the requirement for modernized traffic conditions in
Ningbo by the year 2015 proposed by Ningbo Communications
Bureau, the "Third time Traffic" construction will be
carried out between 2003 and 2007 for a leap of traffic
development in Ningbo from'' basically workable "to" moderately
advanced". The company will take this as the golden chance
